AURORA (GBG 85): Molecular aberrationen in metastastatic breast cancer
Introduction
AURORA is a non-interventional (non-AMG) Study for patients with metastatic breast cancer or advanced local recurrence that can no longer be treated curatively. As part of the study, both the primary tumor and the metastasis/local recurrence are analyzed molecularly in order to evaluate biomarkers for treatment response and resistance development. Serum and plasma samples are also obtained in order to examine circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which can provide information on the development of treatment-resistant clones. As the clinical relevance of these findings is still unclear, the analysis of metastases/local recurrences could help to clarify the development of resistance mechanisms and thus help to open up further therapeutic options.
