We are pleased that Wikipedia has again reached its fundraising goal this year – this is truly great news!
As GBG, we are proud to have contributed to this with a donation of €2,000. Our donation is a small contribution to a big goal: a future in which knowledge remains freely accessible and we actively shape technological challenges together.
Wikipedia faces enormous challenges:
➡️Technological development: Ensuring the stability, security and scalability of the platform so that millions of people can work on it and benefit from it at the same time.
➡️Innovative AI solutions: AI is used to combat vandalism, improve spelling and detect manipulation.
➡️Unique knowledge base: The development of Wikidata, which provides over 100 million up-to-date data for all language versions of Wikipedia, shows the pioneering spirit behind this platform.
All of this is only possible with the support of many – Wikipedia remains free of advertising and fees, but this also means that it needs dedicated supporters to help finance this mission.
